This year there’s a great new innovation at Fort William, the first ever World Cup Bike Test.
We’re going to bring together the fantastically committed audience of core mountain bike enthusiasts, some of the best trails in the world and the best and latest bikes available in the UK.
With magnificent Cross Country trails in and around the Forestry Commission’s Leanachan Forest, including the 2007 World Championships course, where better to put the latest bikes through their paces?
Top brands such as Commencal, Genesis, KTM Industries, Santa Cruz and Trek have lined up some fantastic bikes for you to test-ride on parts of the World Championship cross country trail, and Fox Shox are providing technical support to ensure that bikes are set up just the way you like them.
You will be able to book a bike to test on-line, or turn up on the day (subject to availability). You’ll need to bring your helmet (and your own pedals if you have clip-in shoes) and leave a suitable form of photo ID to test bikes.
All you need is a ticket to attend the World Cup to get access to free bike testing. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Click below to book.
The test trail
The test trail will be based on a section of the 2007 World Championships course.
The 4.3km loop includes a wide variety of terrain, with up to 80m of climbing and descending, all on a mix of technical singletrack, cruising double tracks and open forest road.
